Process Technician - Formulation/filling/material Prep (nights)

Process Technician role focused on the safe operation of highly automated equipment in formulation, filling, and material preparation within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. Requires adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety standards, with responsibilities including quality control, troubleshooting, and training support. The role operates on a night shift schedule and requires the ability to work in a cleanroom environment.

What you'd actually do

  1. Adhere to RTP Plant safety policies and procedures, contribute to a safe work environment.
  2. Adhere to standard operating procedures and current Good Manufacturing Practices to ensure quality of product.
  3. Support leadership on manufacturing floor by ensuring high level of safety, quality, and productivity to maintain reliable supply of products to patients. Proactively monitor documentation and product quality, properly documenting all activities and reporting issues to supervision.
  4. Key support for leadership during troubleshooting, functions as reliable point of contact for issue escalation on the shop floor.
  5. Assist Supervisor in development and training of shift operators.

Skills

Required

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work night shift on a rotational schedule between workdays (2-2-3)
  • Ability to work overtime
  • Ability to wear safety equipment (safety glasses, safety shoes, protective gloves etc.)
  • Ability to work in a restricted environment (classified clean room space) for extended periods of time
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and apply new knowledge in adherence to governing procedures
  • Ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal)
  • Flexibility and problem-solving skills
  • Basic computer skills (desktop software) are required
  • Qualified applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis

Nice to have

  • Scientific/technical degrees or certifications
  • Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMPs)
  • Previous experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems and electronic batch release
  • Previous experience utilizing solution filling equipment and/or isolator technology
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
