Procurement Assistant role supporting the Navy's Hydrographic and Offshore Patrol Vessels, focusing on managing procurement requirements, supplier engagement, and ensuring compliance with procurement processes. This role is co-located with Defence at Henderson WA.

What you'd actually do

  1. Work with stakeholders and subject matter experts to clarify, define and refine the scope of supply, supply requirements and statement of work for the procurement.
  2. Support procurement through to delivery, ensuring delivery of supply to the required schedule, scope and quality
  3. Support supplier engagement activities, including negotiations and supplier performance management (where appropriate).
  4. Approach the market including obtaining quotes, releasing request for tender, evaluating offers, and assessing the market’s capacity to supply.
  5. Manage compliance with procurement process and ensure all required approvals are in place prior to purchase order release.

Skills

Required

  • Ability to deliver day-to-day objectives which have some impact on achievement of results for the work area.
  • Ability to follow basic work routines and standards.
  • A general awareness of systems and procedures relating to the work area.

Nice to have

  • Able to be trained to understand and execute supply chain policies and procedures.
  • High school, secondary school or equivalent education is desirable.
