Product Owner role at Visa focused on fraud and risk management within the payments domain. What you'd actually do

  1. Actively participate, design, and optimise the product from initial concept then manage daily, weekly and monthly through the development cycle and then finally to product release ensuring functionality, quality, and schedule.
  2. Break down and prioritise deliverables for the Engineering team(s) through the creation of epics, stories and tasks.
  3. Provide backlog management, iteration planning, and elaboration of the user stories.
  4. Work closely with Engineering teams on a day-to-day basis, participate in daily stand ups, sprint planning & sprint retrospective meetings.
  5. Work with the Product Manager(s) to create Impact Assessments so the business can prioritise work with full visibility of downstream deliverables.

Skills

Required

  • Product Owner Experience: acting as a Product Owner in an Agile/Scrum environment, preferably within FinTech, Fraud, Risk, or Payments.
  • Technical Fluency: Comfortable reading API documentation, understanding data models, and discussing logic flows with engineers. You don't need to code, but you must speak the language of developers.
  • Requirement Writing: Expert at writing clear, concise User Requirements (features) and defining robust Acceptance Criteria.
  • Agile Proficiency: Deep understanding of Scrum methodologies (Sprints, Velocity, Burndown charts) and tools.
  • Detail-Oriented: You spot the edge cases that others miss.
  • Decisive: You can make quick decisions to keep the team moving when requirements are ambiguous.
  • Collaborative: You view the Engineering team as your partners, not just executioners. You foster a culture of shared ownership.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with Rule Engines or Fraud systems is highly desirable.
