Product Designer

Product Designer at Meta responsible for designing digital user interfaces, creating graphics, and developing new visual systems for web and app-based applications. This role involves partnering with product managers, engineers, and UX researchers to oversee the user experience from conception to launch, contributing to strategic product decisions, and mentoring other designers. The position requires a Bachelor's degree and five years of experience in building and shipping applications, interaction design, prototyping, and visual design, with a focus on a user-centric approach and end-to-end design process.

What you'd actually do

  1. Design digital user interfaces, create graphics, and design new experiences or layouts that evolve and/or define visual systems for web and app-based applications and technologies with a focus on generating new visual language.
  2. Take broad, conceptual ideas and create design flows and experiences that are incredibly simple and elegant for supported platforms.
  3. Drive partnership with product managers, engineers, UX researchers and content strategists to oversee user experience of a product from conception to launch.
  4. Contribute to strategic decisions around the future direction of Meta products.
  5. Give and solicit feedback from designers and a broader product team in order to continually raise our bar for quality, while also taking on mentorship.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in Design, Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Product Design, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • five years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience in the job offered or a product design or computer-related occupation
  • Building and shipping applications or software at company-level scale
  • Interaction design, including defining how an experience should behave based on understanding people's needs
  • Prototyping
  • Visual design, including typography, desktop or mobile user interface, color, layout, and iconography
  • Understanding product goals, identifying opportunities, and making decisions based on the impact to internal and external users
  • Creating user flow and mockups to articulate design concepts
  • Defining product specifications and user experiences
  • Understanding and interpreting user research and usability testing
  • Leading end to end design process across multiple projects including interaction and visual design artifacts, multiple iterations, and high-fidelity prototypes
  • Developing product goals, identifying opportunities in a global market, and making strategic design decisions based on impact to the company
  • Partnering with cross-functional partners to drive product strategy with a user-centric approach leveraging design thinking methodologies and best practices
