Product Designer I on the mobile apps team at Warner Bros. Discovery, responsible for creating industry-leading user experiences for CNN Digital. The role involves collaborating with design, product, engineering, research, editorial, and analytics to create tools that enable journalists to tell immersive stories. The designer will impact the future of CNN's mobile native experience and contribute to the company's bottom line.

What you'd actually do

  1. You will be an integral part of the product design team that is creating the next generation of CNN mobile apps, from small iterative improvements to long term vision.
  2. You will be embedded in a cross functional squad focused and attend all squad and team ceremonies and be a part of a collaborative culture across CNN Digital.
  3. You’ll partner closely with senior product designers across the organization, product managers and engineering on features and tickets, helping to shape requirements and deliver detailed final files for build.
  4. As a team member, you’ll take part in and collaborate with your cross functional team on QA and testing.
  5. You will collaborate with product and user research on plans for testing and research.

Skills

Required

  • 2+ years' work experience as a Product Designer
  • Knowledge of visual design elements including typography, layout, and visual hierarchy
  • Design portfolio highlighting work in native mobile experiences
  • Familiarity with collaboration with internal stakeholders such as product management and engineering
  • Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic knowledge of Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud tools
  • Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience

Nice to have

  • Interest in content creation, strategy, and communication is desirable
  • media experience is a plus
