Product Designer (Staff/Principal-level) for Synthesia, the world's leading AI video platform for business. The role focuses on the core creation and editing experience, aiming to redefine video creation by making it accessible and powerful. Responsibilities include leading design for surfaces where customers script, build, iterate, collaborate on, and publish videos, setting design vision, influencing roadmaps, and raising the craft bar. The ideal candidate has experience designing complex, high-usage product surfaces, strong interaction and UI design skills, systems thinking, and comfort operating in ambiguity.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own major creation/editor bets end-to-end, from problem framing to shipped outcomes and iteration.
  2. Set a design vision for key parts of the editor, and influence adjacent product surfaces to stay coherent.
  3. Partner closely with Product and Engineering to define **what “great” looks like** (principles, quality bar, success metrics) and then drive toward it
  4. Prototype and test interaction models quickly (and know when high-fidelity matters).
  5. Raise the bar on craft: interaction design, UI quality, systems thinking, and consistency across the creation experience.

Skills

Required

  • Significant experience designing complex, high-usage product surfaces (creation tools, editors, collaboration/canvas-based products)
  • Strong craft in interaction design and UI
  • Track record of shipping work that measurably improves the product experience
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity
  • Systems thinking
  • Excellent communication in design reviews and cross-functional decision-making contexts
