Product Development Engineer

This role focuses on enabling and supporting server OEMs, ODMs, and MDCs by ensuring the platform enablement, solutions ramp, and product support for AMD server products, including those used for AI training and inference. The engineer will test AMD's customer enabling collaterals and platform engineering ingredients against vertical industry solutions, work with internal teams to establish best-known-configurations, utilize pre-production hardware to uncover and solve system integration issues, and support customer debug. The role requires a Bachelor's or Master's in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or comparable disciplines.

What you'd actually do

  1. Act as “customer inside” to test AMD’s customer enabling collaterals and platform engineering ingredients against vertical industry solutions. Examples include Cloud workloads (Databases, Key stores, Web tier, Memcached, cold storage, etc.), Virtualization, SDI (load balancers, IPS/firewall, Smart NIC, etc), AI training and inference, Electronic Design Automation, and Enterprise (ERP, CRM).
  2. Work closely with internal teams across platform engineering, SW/FW, validation, power and performance, networking and others to establish best-known-configurations incorporating learnings from Solution level
  3. Utilize pre-production hardware such as CXL accelerators, new memory and storage devices, network adapters etc. to uncover system integration issues and solve them prior to OEM/MDC/ODM customers.
  4. Support customer debug in vertical industry solutions through a combination of remote access to solutions infrastructure with representative workloads and hosting in-lab customer debug workshops.
  5. Partner closely with FW and driver engineering teams on Proof of Concept development and testing new features at rack level such as fine grained power monitoring and capping, secure encrypted virtualization enhancements, and provisioning.
