Job Summary: Concepts, architects and integrates new products, components, or technologies.
What you will do:
• Researching and developing design parameters, performance characteristics, and technical specifications of new products and components.
• Guiding the evolution of the technical design, technical project planning, performance analysis, and development testing. Participating in supplier selection and capabilities assessment.
• Monitoring, exploring, and testing new technologies, materials, and components to understand product or process improvement opportunities.
• Constructing and fabricating prototype equipment; overseeing materials selection, process optimization and process yield, as well as reliability testing and failure analysis.
• Collaborating with all functional areas, (marketing, purchasing, manufacturing) to provide a design solution that meets the requirements of the customer and dealer network.
• Requires a degree in an accredited Engineering.
What you will have:
**Analytical Thinking: **Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations. Systems Thinking: Knowledge of the critical interdependencies among individual system elements that help and hinder performance; ability to plan and design solutions that synchronize resources to achieve business results.
Basic requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably Mechanical, Electrical or Materials Engineering.
• Pre-Advanced English
Top candidates will also have:
• Advanced English
• Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) processes
• Knowledge of Caterpillar product structure and experience in 3D CAD software (Creo) and PLM software (Teamcenter)
• Experience working within multi-disciplinary engineering teams and with quality and suppliers
• Familiarity with automation, programming or scripting tools.
Additional Information:
• This position requires CREA registration. If the registration is not active, the candidate must have all the necessary documentation to obtain it immediately.
Note: This position requires the candidate to work on-site five days a week.
