This role is for a Product Engineer focused on ARM Servers, Storage, and ML Systems within Google's Manufacturing Operations team. The engineer will be responsible for ensuring server/storage designs, processes, and quality standards are enhanced for production, collaborating with Subject Matter Experts, vendors, and quality engineers. The role involves leading design for manufacturing efforts, supporting product qualification, and coordinating new product introductions. While the team works within the AI and Infrastructure domain, the core responsibilities are in manufacturing and operations engineering for hardware systems that support AI, rather than direct AI/ML model development.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead design for manufacturing efforts across teams to ensure server/storage designs, process, test, and quality standards are enhanced for production.
  2. Lead and guide Subject Matter Experts to ensure the product meets our specifications.
  3. Ensure manufacturing sites are prepared for product builds ahead of time. Provide on-site support and lead defect correction efforts post build.
  4. Work with the Product Quality Engineer to establish product quality and reliability goals. Validate product qualification plans, support product qualification testing, and review product qualification test results to ensure product performance meets requirements.
  5. Coordinate release of New Product Introduction (NPI) Bills of Materials (BOMs) into Product Data Management (PDM) system. Perform technical review of product changes and assess impact on supply chain.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in electrical devices, fabrication processes, test, design for manufacturing, quality, or reliability engineering.
  • Experience working with Original Device Manufacturers (ODMs), Contract Manufacturers (CMs), and suppliers to lead root cause analysis, corrective actions, and process improvements.

Nice to have

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10 years of experience working at a company developing supply chains, manufacturing and test for new server and storage type products for the IT industry.
  • Experience in creating and executing a design validation test plan on an electronic assembly.
  • Experience in data analytics and quality data systems.
