Product Marketing Lead, Privacy

OpenAI OpenAI · AI Frontier · San Francisco, CA · Marketing

Product Marketing Lead focused on privacy for OpenAI's AI products. This role will drive company-wide privacy narratives, strategy, and execution, translating privacy principles and user needs into product requirements, messaging, and go-to-market plans. Responsibilities include understanding user expectations, identifying privacy risks, owning launch strategies for privacy features, and building clear communication materials. The role requires strong problem-solving, cross-functional leadership, and experience in privacy-adjacent domains.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead discovery to understand user expectations, enterprise requirements, and market dynamics related to privacy, trust, and data stewardship
  2. Translate privacy insights into clear product requirements and programs in close partnership with Product, Engineering, Legal, and Privacy/Policy stakeholders
  3. Partner with Design, Data Science, and Analytics to define success metrics for privacy experiences (e.g., comprehension, control adoption, incident reduction, support burden) and create measurement plans
  4. Identify privacy risk areas across the product lifecycle (data collection, retention, training use, access controls, sharing, third parties) and drive cross-functional mitigation plans
  5. Own launch strategy and execution for new and improved privacy features and experiences—such as user controls, transparency disclosures, consent flows, and admin tools
