Product Marketing Manager

Perplexity Perplexity · AI Frontier · San Francisco, CA · Communications

Product Marketing Manager at Perplexity, responsible for bridging product strategy and market impact, architecting external narratives, and driving product adoption and growth. This role requires turning complex product capabilities into clear market points of view, orchestrating product launches, equipping customer-facing teams, understanding customer needs, measuring outcomes, and influencing without authority. Requires 5+ years of product marketing experience in high-growth tech, with a proven ability to translate technical concepts into compelling narratives and drive launches in ambiguous environments.

What you'd actually do

  1. Turn ambiguity into clarity. Transform complex product capabilities into a crisp market point of view, defining not just what we built, but who it’s for, what it replaces, and why it wins.
  2. Drive launches as a system, not an event. Orchestrate product introductions by defining success metrics and sequencing readiness across teams, ensuring enablement and proof points land simultaneously with the launch.
  3. Make others materially better at their jobs. Equip customer-facing teams with "talk tracks that close," handling objections and providing competitive intelligence that reflects the actual battlefield.
  4. Obsess over the customer and the market. Maintain a sharp, real-time view of buyer needs and alternatives, ensuring our narrative remains grounded in truth and provable value rather than empty hype.
  5. Measure outcomes, not just outputs. Tie messaging and launches to tangible pipeline influence, activation, and retention, running lightweight experiments to iterate fast on pricing, packaging, and positioning.
