About the Team PICO, ByteDance's XR brand, is on a mission to build the most immersive and content-rich extended reality platform in the world. We are seeking a driven and commercially minded Product Operations Manager to own and grow our Entertainment vertical across streaming video, sports, and music. This is a pivotal role within our PICO Store Operations team, with a focused remit on the Content distribution– responsible for defining and executing apps and content traffic strategy across PICO eco services channels that will define how users discover, engage with, and consume content on the platform.You will work at the intersection of content, technology, and platform strategy, you will collaborate closely with Product, Data, Business Development and Developer teams to continuously refine discovery mechanisms, improve conversion efficiency, and scale global distribution capabilities — ultimately shaping a more engaging, personalized, and scalable XR content ecosystem.
The PICO Store Operations team oversees the global lifecycle of apps and games across both established and emerging VR scenarios. Our mission is to help users discover high-quality content effortlessly, ensuring they find consistent value through diverse and meaningful platform experiences. The team identifies growth opportunities in high-frequency, high-retention usage scenarios. By managing the full content lifecycle—from onboarding and distribution to sustained engagement—the team continuously enhances platform value while supporting a healthy and thriving developer ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Own content distribution for the PICO Store: Define and execute apps & content traffic strategy across PICO eco service channels(Feed, Store, Browser, Push, etc.), including the optimization of homepage layout and featured sections. Enhance app discoverability and user reach across both China and global markets through data-driven logic.Refine store displays based on user behavior data and platform goals.
- Campaigns & Social Engagement: Design and launch high-impact campaigns to drive user engagement and retention, such as online multiplayer events, limited-time challenges, and user-generated content (UGC) programs. Support Discord initiatives, including community challenges and social events, to foster a vibrant developer-user ecosystem. Leverage social features to strengthen user interaction and platform stickiness.
- Testing & Data Optimization: Partner with Product teams to suggest and test new store features or tools. Synchronize with Content and Developer teams on how we distribute and promote new apps. Collaborate with Data teams to support analytics frameworks, reporting dashboards, and experimentation pipelines.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration: Partner closely with Product, Content Operations, Developer Operations, Legal, and Data teams to ensure the effective execution of platform initiatives and new feature rollouts.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Professional Experience: 5+ years of experience in App Store Operations, Advertising Traffic Strategy, Organic Traffic Strategies, Content Operations, or related roles within the technology or media industry.
- Growth & Distribution Expertise: Proven track record in traffic distribution strategy, placement management, A/B testing, and analyzing user behavior to drive measurable operational improvements.
- Full-Lifecycle Content Operations: Proven track record of managing the full content lifecycle for games, apps, or video platforms—from developer onboarding and global launches to post-release updates and long-term retention. This includes leading strategic curation, optimizing metadata and creative assets for discoverability, and managing title-specific campaigns to drive sustained user engagement and platform impact.
- Collaboration & Execution: Expertise in global project management and cross-functional leadership, adept at synchronizing with EMEA and APAC teams to drive success in dynamic, fast-evolving environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry Experience: Prior experience in app distribution platforms, content distribution, or gaming platforms is highly preferred.
- Community Engagement: Hands-on experience with Discord community operations, including organizing online events, challenges, or developer-user engagement initiatives.
