This role is a Production Control Manager at Northrop Grumman, responsible for directing and coordinating production schedules, managing the flow of materials, overseeing work in process, and ensuring the availability of resources to meet production and delivery requirements. It involves leadership, team management, and coordination with various departments like quality assurance, manufacturing, and supply chain.

What you'd actually do

  1. Direct and coordinate the activities to plan, prepare, issue, and control production schedules, in conjunction with Material Requirements Planning, to meet production/delivery requirements for the Receiver Exciter Production Cell
  2. Manage the controlled flow of material and hardware from receipt into a manufacturing area through delivery to the customer
  3. Oversee the status of work in process, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are available, as needed
  4. Manage the priority and scheduling of equipment and personnel, the confirmation of material supply and demand, and the preparation of work order or purchase requests for the production or purchase of components or parts based on a master production schedule, shop load, and inventory requirements
  5. Utilize both internal and external resources, and coordinates interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, inventory control, transportation, etc.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of experience in Operations, Production Planning, Program Management or equivalent experience; Master’s Degree with 6 years of experience operations, production planning, program management or equivalent experience; 12 years of experience operations, production planning, program management or equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree requirement
  • Experience in functional management and team leadership
  • Experience working with manufacturing and production concepts
  • Experience delivering presentations to senior leadership
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship required

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Math, or Logistics
  • Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance
  • Firm understanding of the fundamentals of MRP
  • Experience working in a union represented environment
  • Lean manufacturing and process improvement implementation experience
