Production Engineering - Lead Project Engineer

Lead Project Engineer role focused on production engineering, managing project execution, coordinating cross-functional activities, and ensuring alignment with program goals. This role involves developing and tracking project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations, as well as identifying and mitigating risks. It requires experience supporting engineering portfolios and leading technical projects.

What you'd actually do

  1. Act as the primary liaison with the Production Engineering team between the Program, other Engineering Capabilities, Operations, and program Integrated Product Teams (IPT) translating program goals into actionable project plans.
  2. Coordinate cross-functional activities within Program and Engineering Leadership to ensure execution to plan in areas such as Enterprise Standard Gated Process (ESGP), Flight Test Mission Assurance Readiness Review (FTMARR), Internal Work Transfer (IWT), and Statement of Work (SOW).
  3. Develop, maintain, and track project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations to ensure timely delivery of program milestones.
  4. Identifies and maintains day-to-day oversight of cost, schedule, and performance metrics and reporting to leadership
  5. Monitor project risks and issues, proactively identifying mitigation strategies and escalating as necessary.

Skills

Required

  • Experience supporting cross-functional Engineering portfolios
  • 3 or more years of leading technical projects
  • Experience with providing technical solutions to complex problems through innovation and creativity
  • Proficient communication skills both written and verbal.

Nice to have

  • An Active Secret Security Clearance
  • Experience in creation and execution of Statement of Work (SoW) documentation
  • Project Management of projects including Engineering definition, Quality requirements, and execution of complex assemblies to specification and on-time delivery
  • Defining requirements for executable plans on technical projects.
