Boeing India Engineering has an immediate opening for Production Engineering Manager role to lead teams working in areas of Equipment & Tool engineering departments. This is a techno-managerial position that is expected to provide technical leadership and people leadership to the team.
This position will also acquire talent and build the team further, motivate, develop and manage employees and provide technical oversight to achieve excellent technical and business outcomes; i.e., provide technical leadership and project management guidance to the team, and lead the implementation of technical approaches, processes and procedures to deliver advanced technical capability that will be matured and transitioned to Boeing stakeholders.
This position will be located in the Bangalore, India.
Position Responsibilities:
- The ideal candidate will develop and implement business plans, follow policies and procedures and develop organizational and technical strategies. Will acquire resources, provide technical guidance of suppliers and lead process improvements.
- Lead teams responsible for the development, sustainment, and continuous improvement of the production system. Elements include but are not limited to: process engineering, Tool Engineering, manufacturing support, build plan development and oversight, technical management of suppliers, and introducing new technology.
- Candidate Manages, engages, develops and motivates employees
- The ideal candidate will develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, collaborators, peers, partners and direct reports. Will provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes. Lead, develop and empower employees. Will work with multi-functional teams supporting work packages for multiple programs.
- This position will also be responsible for coordinating and communicating regularly with guides in Boeing organizations around the world.
- Candidate shall provide periodic update on project progress, quality metrics, project summaries, and other related documents. Contribute to productivity improvement through use of Quality Management System and lean principles.
- This position supports initiatives of Boeing India organization related to engineering excellence, employee development, customer engagement etc.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership.”
- General knowledge of industry, military and government specifications, handbooks and standards
- General knowledge of the responsibilities and tasks performed by various Operations departments/fields (e.g.Tool Engineering, Equipment Engineering, Fabrication, Assembly, Manufacturing engineering, Quality, Product Review, Manufacturing Engineering).
- General knowledge of the interactions between departments/fields and how their products/processes affect one another and impact non-operation processes (e.g., Engineering, Business, Logistics)
- Knowledge of design, modification, and disposition of Equipment & tools to support the build of production parts.
- Experience / exposure to Equipment & Tooling Stress
- Experience with production tool strings, assembly instructions, tool liaison, and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerances (GD&T)
- Should be conversant with Assembly Processes, Customer Supplier Knowledge, Design / Produce Processes, Engineering Process Improvement Method, Manufacturing Methods, Product Structure, Operational Analysis.
- Must be a self-starter with a positive demeanor, high ethics, and a track record of working successfully under pressure in a time-constrained environment.
- Must be able to work collaboratively with multi-functional teams within Boeing and external partners.
- Develop and manage relationships / partnerships with customers, collaborators, peers, and partners to develop collaborative plans and complete projects.
- Proactively seek information and direction to successfully complete the statement of work.
- Must be flexible, with a high tolerance for organizational complexity and ability to work with team members across different cultures and time-zones

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
- Demonstrate strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Be fluent in written and spoken English, and have high degree of proficiency with MS Office tools to prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, proposals, and Statements of Work.
- Must have experience leading teams and have the ability to mentor and guide juniors and partners to accomplish project and departmental goals and objectives.
Typical Education & Experience:
Bachelor or Master in Engineering (preferably in Mechanical / Aerospace / Production Engineering or equivalent field) with 13 Plus years of experience.
