Production Engineering Manager

Boeing India is looking for a Production Engineering Manager to lead teams in Equipment & Tool engineering departments. This is a techno-managerial role requiring technical and people leadership, talent acquisition, team motivation, development, and providing technical oversight to achieve excellent technical and business outcomes. The role involves developing and implementing business plans, leading production system development and improvement, managing supplier technical aspects, introducing new technology, and collaborating with global Boeing organizations. The ideal candidate will have leadership experience and general knowledge of industry specifications, operations departments, and production tooling.

What you'd actually do

  1. The ideal candidate will develop and implement business plans, follow policies and procedures and develop organizational and technical strategies. Will acquire resources, provide technical guidance of suppliers and lead process improvements.
  2. Lead teams responsible for the development, sustainment, and continuous improvement of the production system. Elements include but are not limited to: process engineering, Tool Engineering, manufacturing support, build plan development and oversight, technical management of suppliers, and introducing new technology.
  3. Candidate Manages, engages, develops and motivates employees
  4. The ideal candidate will develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, collaborators, peers, partners and direct reports. Will provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes. Lead, develop and empower employees. Will work with multi-functional teams supporting work packages for multiple programs.
  5. This position will also be responsible for coordinating and communicating regularly with guides in Boeing organizations around the world.

Skills

Required

  • at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership.”
  • General knowledge of industry, military and government specifications, handbooks and standards
  • General knowledge of the responsibilities and tasks performed by various Operations departments/fields (e.g.Tool Engineering, Equipment Engineering, Fabrication, Assembly, Manufacturing engineering, Quality, Product Review, Manufacturing Engineering).
  • General knowledge of the interactions between departments/fields and how their products/processes affect one another and impact non-operation processes (e.g., Engineering, Business, Logistics)
  • Knowledge of design, modification, and disposition of Equipment & tools to support the build of production parts.
  • Experience / exposure to Equipment & Tooling Stress
  • Experience with production tool strings, assembly instructions, tool liaison, and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerances (GD&T)
