Production Engineering Manager

Boeing is seeking a Production Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers and technical employees providing support for manufacturing operations. The role involves managing employees, developing project plans, acquiring resources, managing suppliers, leading process improvement, and interfacing with various stakeholders including manufacturing, quality, engineering, airline representatives, regulatory agencies, and suppliers to resolve issues impacting airplane build, testing, and delivery. The position requires experience with Material Review Board (MRB) product review and a leadership role.

What you'd actually do

  1. Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities within Production Engineering
  2. Develops and executes project and process plans, implement policies and procedures, and establish operational goals
  3. Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers, and leads process improvement initiatives
  4. Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
  5. Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 3+ years of experience performing Material Review Board (MRB) product review
  • Currently have or previously held MRB certification from any Boeing business unit OR other aerospace OEM
  • at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership
  • Able to work any shift based on the needs of the operation

Nice to have

  • 5+ years of MRB as an engineer
  • 5+ years of experience working in a production/flight-line environment
  • Experience in leading or managing teams
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams

What the JD emphasized

  • 3+ years of experience performing Material Review Board (MRB) product review
  • Currently have or previously held MRB certification from any Boeing business unit OR other aerospace OEM
