This role is for a Production Planner and Scheduler at Northrop Grumman, responsible for coordinating production schedules, ensuring material availability, managing master production schedules, and advising management on operations status. It involves working with MRP and ERP systems, capacity planning, and coordinating with various internal departments to ensure timely movement of parts and support for production startup. The role requires experience in operations planning and production scheduling, proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel), and knowledge of ERP/MRP processes.

What you'd actually do

  1. Coordinates production schedules along with ensuring materials, and planning are available for release.
  2. Responsibilities include working on a master production schedule.
  3. Advises management and production scheduling of operations status.
  4. Ability to escalate problems, such as material shortages ensuring labor, tools, equipment, and services are provided as needed in conjunction with the program schedule.
  5. Coordinates with internal departments to ensure the movement of parts are timely.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of relevant work experience in operations planning and production scheduling (Level 2) or 5+ years (Level 3)
  • Experience in MS Office Applications (exceptional use of Excel and Powerpoint)
  • Knowledge in an ERP system & familiar with the MRP process
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance

Nice to have

  • Costpoint and/or SAP experience
  • CPIM- Certified in Planning and Inventory Management
  • Supply Chain experience
  • Manufacturing/Production line experience
  • Active US government security clearance
