Production Planner (level 2)/principal Production Planner (level 3)

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Production Planner (Level 2) or Principal Production Planner (Level 3) to manage manufacturing orders, coordinate materials, and ensure timely production flow using MRP systems. This role supports production on the manufacturing floor and interfaces with various departments to resolve issues and maintain schedules. Experience in aerospace or defense manufacturing is preferred for the Level 3 position.

What you'd actually do

  1. Create, issue, manage, and maintain manufacturing orders to control and support production on the manufacturing floor
  2. Utilizes and manages MRP systems (Costpoint and Sync) to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials in time to meet production schedule and requirements
  3. Interfaces with Material Planning and Receiving Quality Control to ensure parts are in inventory in time to support the production plan
  4. Ensure that all materials needed for manufacturing orders is picked and delivered to point of use and that materials are consumed accurately and timely in the MRP system
  5. Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed.

Skills

Required

  • HS diploma and 6 years experience working in operations, operations management, process manufacturing, or engineering support, or a Bachelors Degree with 2 years experience, or a Masters degree.
  • Excellent computer skills with the ability to become an expert in the company's MRP system, Electronic Shop Floor work instruction software and document/engineering management software
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality controls
  • Excellent productivity and organizational skills
  • Ability to comprehend and analyze complex problems and develop solutions
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and execute quickly at the highest quality
  • Experience working with others to improve processes and overall efficiencies

  • HS diploma and 10 years experience working in operations, operations management, process manufacturing, or engineering support, or a BS Degree with 6 years experience, or a master’s degree with 4 years experience.

  • Familiarity with Government procedures
  • Understanding or certification in Lean Manufacturing.
  • Proven history of leveraging multiple departments to solve complex issues
