This is a Production Supervisor role in the Tool & Die department at Ford Motor Company. The role focuses on supervising a team, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity, optimizing throughput, supporting continuous improvement, managing maintenance schedules, and troubleshooting die-related issues. It requires leadership, problem-solving, and experience in automotive die forming and manufacturing processes.

What you'd actually do

  1. Coach Safety, Quality and Productivity to ensure objectives are met through following standardized work
  2. Optimize throughput in accordance with budgets and cost objectives
  3. Support Kaizen (Continuous Improvement) and coach problem resolution to the lowest level
  4. Communication and Recognition
  5. Meet FTT, inventory, cost, scrap, supply and tooling expense targets

Skills

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1+ years of supervisory and / or manufacturing experience
  • Working knowledge in Microsoft: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to work rotating shifts and hours, including nights and weekends
  • Fundamental working knowledge major automotive die forming
  • Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism in difficult and stressful situations
  • Two-way communicator who actively listens to hourly team members, leaders, business partners and customers
  • Highly committed to continuous improvement, while applying innovative solutions with a customer first mindset
  • Create a culture of safety and apply and implement workplace policies
  • Administer the CBA (collective bargaining agreement) consistently and effectively
  • Values different opinions & is open to ideas & perspectives from others
  • Capable of assigning work to unionized hourly workforce and holding employees accountable for following processes pertaining to daily work assignments in terms of safety, quality, and throughput

Nice to have

  • Bachelor’s Degree or completion of Die Maker apprenticeship
  • 3-5 years automotive experience Body shop/stamping/subassembly experience preferred
  • Safety and quality experience
  • Six Sigma: Black or Green Belt certified
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Knowledge of constraint management principles
  • Prior experience managing a unionized work force.
