Joby Aviation is seeking a Production Technician II/III to join their powertrain and electronics team to build flight-critical components for their VTOL electric aircraft. The role involves adhering to safety procedures, building and assembling aircraft parts, using a manufacturing execution system, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements and investigate quality defects. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of manufacturing or production experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

What you'd actually do

  1. Build a variety of early-phase pilot and production aircraft parts.
  2. Assemble data for the aircraft parts in our manufacturing execution system (MES).
  3. Run trials for new products and processes.
  4. Provide feedback and document issues found during manufacturing to drive solutions and process improvements.
  5. Participate in the investigation of quality defects and test failures.

Skills

Required

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Ability to work shift from Mon-Fri 7:30am - 6:00pm, as well as 1-2 Sat per month, from 7:30am - 4:00pm
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in manufacturing or production
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain high standards of work

  • Able to operate multiple equipment per SOP and basic hand tools (electric and manual)

  • Experience being a trainee in on-the-job (OTJ) training
  • Experience with light industrial environments

  • Experience with electro-mechanical assemblies
  • Experience writing and following manufacturing procedures.
  • Experience in basic wiring and diagnostics.
  • IPC J-STD, 610 certification.
  • Atlassian Jira, First Resonance Ion experience.
  • Experience in lean manufacturing.
