Program Chief Engineer- Onsite

RTX (Collins Aerospace) is seeking a Program Chief Engineer in Largo, FL to lead the development and establishment of technology and infrastructure for Integrated Platforms, specifically focusing on Nuclear Command and Control (NC2) Communication Systems. This role involves leading cross-functional teams through development, integration, and testing of systems into DOD platforms, managing program schedules and budgets, and ensuring technical performance. Requires a STEM degree, minimum 7-10 years of experience, and an active Secret security clearance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Directs all phases of programs from inception through completion while meeting program schedule and budget.
  2. Plans, oversees, and coordinates the administrative and operational aspects of ongoing projects within program guidelines.
  3. Monitors and assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives.
  4. Establishes design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test.
  5. Responsible for managing the technical performance of a program team which may include multiple small programs (5-10) or a larger program (20-40).

Skills

Required

  • STEM degree
  • minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience
  • Able to communicate and make presentations to senior level leadership
  • Proven experience leading large engineering programs or major technical efforts
  • Extensive experience in Systems and Hardware Engineering throughout the lifecycle including architecture, design, integration, verification, and validation
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date
  • U.S. citizenship is required

  • Active TOP SECRET clearance
  • Progressive leadership in the design, development, test, and integration of electromechanical assemblies with embedded software
  • Experience using Agile methodologies for hardware and software development
  • Prior Cost Account Manager experience
  • Experience navigating competing priorities, delivering the highest level of engagement and delivering successful outcomes in critical situations
  • Experience leading projects and teams within a highly matrixed organization
  • Understanding of the configuration management process
  • Strong Project management skills using MS Office/MS Project/EVMS
  • Identification of risks early
