Program Leader, Law Enforcement & Public Safety Training

Skydio · Defense · San Mateo, CA +1 · Operations

This role is for a Program Leader focused on designing, governing, and scaling a national Drone First Responder (DFR) training ecosystem for law enforcement and public safety. The focus is on operational doctrine, policy alignment, certification standards, and defensibility, rather than feature instruction. The ideal candidate has experience building and standardizing agency-wide training programs, is comfortable with technology and operational workflows, and has experience with accreditation bodies and instructor certification.

What you'd actually do

  1. Collaborate with the industry to develop the reference standard used by agencies, partners, and courts to define “trained” and “qualified” DFR operations
  2. Work closely with customer agencies to develop and execute curriculum to embed DFR into everyday patrol, RTCC, and supervisory workflows, not as a specialized program.
  3. Curate relationships with regional training facilities as needed to ensure quality and consistency of course delivery
  4. Ensure a national consistency in how DFR is trained and evaluated through standardized curricula
  5. Design and implement a tiered DFR certification framework spanning operators, instructors, supervisors and program leaders
