What you'd actually do

  1. Plan, propose and execute on discretionary and funded programs. Manage all elements including cost, schedule, scope, quality, and technical progress.
  2. Interface, communicate and collaborate with functional organizations and leadership as needed to execute on programs.
  3. Provide overall leadership and ownership for program success.
  4. Establish working relationships with external customers communicating marketing, proposal, and program information.
  5. Manage proposal preparation and submission.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Physics, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of aerospace/defense technical experience
  • 3 years program/project management experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all levels of leadership and customers
  • Earned Value Management certification and/or Cost Account Manager experience
  • Prior experience working with a diverse team to accomplish program goals
  • Familiarity with business tools and processes used at NG PS
  • Strong technical background in solid rocket motors and related fields and technologies
  • Familiarity with various contract types, including FFP, CPFF, T&M, etc.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Detail oriented but able to understand the big picture
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of time
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET level security clearance
  • US Citizenship required

  • Advanced degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Physics
  • Expertise in solid rocket motor design and energetic materials
  • Working knowledge of safety and environmental requirements associated with rocket motor manufacturing
  • Interface with technical personnel internally and externally
  • Working with Safety, Finance, Contracts, and Supply Chain Management organizations
