What you'd actually do

  1. Manage multiple contracts across the Advanced Programs portfolio, spanning varied contract types and customers
  2. Oversee NG AP plant operations, including automotive airbag testing and evaluation
  3. Lead production efforts for stealth coatings and inks
  4. Manage solid rocket motor and energetic materials contracted technology and R&D in support of U.S. Government and partner needs
  5. Support and manage internal IRAD projects aligned to portfolio and business objectives

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, or related field with 10+ years’ technical experience in the aerospace/defense industry
  • Minimum of 3 years of program/project management experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of business development
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all levels of leadership and customers
  • Prior experience working with a diverse team to accomplish program goals
  • Earned Value Management (EVM) and/or Cost Account Manager (CAM) experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to understand and communicate the big picture
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance
  • US Citizenship is required

Nice to have

  • Advanced degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, or related field
  • Expertise in solid rocket motor design and energetic materials
  • Working knowledge of safety and environmental requirements associated with rocket motor manufacturing
  • Strong technical background in solid rocket motor or related energetic materials technology
  • Experience interfacing with internal and external technical personnel and with Safety, Finance, Contracts, and Supply Chain organizations to execute programs
  • Familiarity with business tools and processes used at NGSS
  • Familiarity with various contract types (e.g., FFP, CPFF, T&M)
  • Active Security clearance
