Project Audit Remediation Sme

This role is for a Project Audit Remediation SME within Deloitte's Finance Transformation team. The primary focus is on advising clients on audit remediation plans, assessing financial statement issues, and supporting the design and implementation of improvements to finance processes, documentation, and governance. The role involves leading workstreams, collaborating with client and Deloitte teams, and ensuring financial reporting quality and audit readiness.

What you'd actually do

  1. Advising Senior Executive Service and other senior client stakeholders on audit remediation plans, priorities, and execution approaches
  2. Assessing issues across multiple financial statement line items and identifying actions to address root causes, control gaps, and reporting challenges
  3. Supporting the design and implementation of remediation activities that improve finance processes, documentation, and governance
  4. Leading project workstreams, reviewing deliverables, and driving progress against client timelines and requirements
  5. Collaborating with client and Deloitte teams to support controllership transformation objectives, financial reporting quality, and audit readiness

Skills

Required

  • Advanced financial accounting experience
  • Experience supporting government finance, controllership, audit readiness, or financial reporting initiatives
  • Experience with internal control documentation, deficiency remediation, or corrective action tracking
  • Experience leading project workstreams, reviewing deliverables, and coordinating team activities
  • Experience working with CFO, CAO, controller, treasurer, or equivalent finance leadership stakeholders
  • Experience supporting process improvement, finance transformation, or operating model initiatives
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a team
