Project Controls and Portfolio Cost Lead

This role is responsible for the financial governance and performance of a global Design and Projects portfolio. It involves implementing active project controls, leveraging data analytics, AI, and process governance to maximize investment value. The role bridges project delivery with corporate finance, providing transparency and risk management for strategic decision-making. Key responsibilities include establishing cost management guidelines, managing change control, driving lessons learned, developing budgets and forecasts, monitoring costs, identifying trends and risks, and establishing cost control frameworks. The role also involves developing dashboards, managing funding approvals, and partnering with Legal and Sourcing on contracts. A significant aspect is promoting AI and digital transformation best practices, exploring AI tools for cost forecasting, championing 5D BIM, and integrating AI tools to optimize workflows while adhering to ethical AI practices.

What you'd actually do

  1. Establish and enforce globally aligned guidelines for project cost management and a standardized project approval process
  2. Manage the Change Control process to prevent unauthorized scope creep and protect the portfolio budget
  3. Drive the "lessons learned" process to foster continuous improvement in cost efficiency across all future design and build projects
  4. Partner with Sourcing and Legal teams to align project timelines with procurement lead times, market fluctuations, and to expedite contract finalization
  5. Facilitate development of annual portfolio-level budgets, cost baselines, and accurate forecasts
