Project Engineer role focused on manufacturing and quality engineering for new product programs at John Deere's Greeneville facility. Responsibilities include planning, coordinating, and performing engineering work, contributing to design solutions, testing feasibility, and developing assembly processes. Requires knowledge of manufacturing design, quality integration, tech stack tools (SAP, MPP, PDM), tooling, and assembly torque/vision tools.

What you'd actually do

  1. Plans, coordinates, and performs manufacturing and quality engineering work for Greeneville EPDP.
  2. Contribute to the design of engineering solutions;
  3. Design the feasibility testing approach and supervise its implementation to support the development and validation of engineering solutions.
  4. Develop safe, high‑quality, and efficient assembly processes for new product programs.
  5. In addition, support factory initiatives on outcomes of strategic planning as required.

Skills

Required

  • Knowledge and experience of tasks/responsibilities related to John Deere PDP Manufacturing Design and Quality Integration lanes.
  • Competency in tech stack tools such as SAP, MPP, & PDM. (MRP/ERP - Mfg Process Planning Software - Parts Management/CAD Modeling)
  • Experience in development of tooling and equipment procurement.
  • Working knowledge of assembly torque and vision tools.
  • BS Mfg Technology/Industrial Systems or similar area of study or equivalent experience

Nice to have

  • Data analysis and ability to formalize reports/information.
  • Understanding of capital procurement and proven project management skills.
  • Practice in risk management skills including D/S/P FMEA and SERA.
  • Knowledge and practice of Lean Manufacturing.
