Property and Asset Management Senior Consultant

This role is for a Senior Consultant in Deloitte's Finance Transformation team, focusing on Property and Asset Management within the defense sector. Responsibilities include supporting inventory, valuation, reconciliation, and reporting activities, maintaining asset data in ERP systems, ensuring financial process compliance, and preparing for audits. The role requires experience in financial processes, internal controls, and asset data management within a defense context, along with an active Top Secret clearance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Support property and asset accountability by executing and improving inventory, valuation, reconciliation, and reporting activities across the asset lifecycle.
  2. Maintain asset reporting in an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system by validating asset master data, resolving discrepancies, and producing audit-ready asset and financial reports.
  3. Support financial processes and compliance activities by applying regulations, internal policies, audit requirements, and evidence standards in day-to-day execution.
  4. Develop and enhance financial processes and internal controls by identifying control gaps, documenting procedures, recommending improvements, and supporting control testing and remediation.
  5. Prepare for audits and collaborate with finance, property, operations, and system stakeholders to support data requests, walkthroughs, issue resolution, and reporting accuracy.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI and polygraph eligibility
  • 5+ years supporting property and asset accountability, including inventory, valuation, reconciliation, and reporting in the defense sector
  • 5+ years supporting financial processes and internal controls, including compliance and audit requirements, in the defense sector
  • 5+ years working with asset data and reporting in an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system
  • Ability to work on-site in Huntsville, Alabama, 5 days per week
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

Nice to have

  • Experience supporting Department of Defense audit readiness, financial improvement, or property accountability initiatives
  • Experience preparing audit support packages, walkthrough documentation, and evidentiary support
  • Experience reconciling asset records across financial, property, and operational systems
  • Experience documenting standard operating procedures, process flows, or control narratives
