Propulsion Structures Design Engineer (senior)

This role is for a Senior Propulsion Structures Design Engineer at Boeing, focusing on technology and product development for aircraft nacelles. It involves managing technology development projects, designing components, running trade studies, and developing propulsion architecture. The role requires expert knowledge of nacelle design, CATIA V5, and experience with advanced engineering practices.

What you'd actually do

  1. Manages technology development projects to understand and mature new tools, processes and methods that will dramatically improve the next generation of nacelles.
  2. Designs and develops components, runs trade studies, and develops nacelle and propulsion architecture for the next BCA airplane program.
  3. Coordinates extensively with Propulsion Product Development in the Northwest and other locations.
  4. Works with and influences many other functions, many of which will be outside of PSC.
  5. Works with vague, changing, and undeveloped requirements with little or no direction.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace/Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
  • 5+ years of experience with Propulsion Nacelle hardware
  • 5+ years of experience with CATIA V5

Nice to have

  • 5+ years of experience with leading design, activation, and operation of manufacturing systems and processes specifically for nacelles, to include engine inlets, thrust reversers, fan cowl support beams, engine mounts, and primary exhaust systems.
  • Knowledge of Product Development processes and methods.
  • Experience working on technical projects-conducting requirements development, verification, test, and/or troubleshooting.
