Propulsion Technician B Second Shift – Millennium Space Systems

This role involves assisting in the assembly and testing of spacecraft propulsion subsystems, requiring the ability to work second shift. Responsibilities include welding, assembling, installing, testing, and inspecting propulsion assemblies according to blueprints and specifications. The position also involves operating various tools and collaborating with engineering and manufacturing personnel. A U.S. Security Clearance is required.

What you'd actually do

  1. Weld, assemble, install, test, route/terminate/stake/wrap thermistors, heaters, non‐flight thermocouples and heaters on spacecraft assemblies by interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings and specifications, and written assembly, integration, and test procedures
  2. Checkout and inspect propulsion assemblies to drawings, engineering specifications, and written assembly, and test procedures
  3. Capable of operating a wide range of tools. Included but not limited to, orbital tube welding machines, tack welding machines, drill press, grinders, power, and hand tools
  4. Interfaces and/or works closely with Design and Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing, Materials, Procurement and Shipping personnel on procedural issues involving design, methods, tooling, cost, and other areas involved in the control of product quality
  5. Travel maybe required to support operations identified by program being supported

Skills

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 6 months’ experience as a technician in aerospace or equivalent industry and/or Trade School training
  • Available to work shifted or alternate work schedule when required
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Mechanically and mathematically inclined
  • Knowledgeable about various computer operating systems and software
  • Ability to read schematics

Nice to have

  • Experience working in a 100,000 Class clean room
  • Orbital Tube welding experience
  • Harness assembly and routing experience
  • Thermal system component installation experience
