AWS Professional Services (ProServe) is seeking a talented and experienced Cloud Architect to join our team. As a ProServe Cloud Architect, you will work directly with customers to design, architect, and implement cloud solutions on Amazon Web Services (AWS). You will serve as a trusted technical advisor, helping customers accelerate their cloud adoption journey — from migration and modernization to building cloud-native applications and leveraging emerging technologies such as generative AI.
Key job responsibilities Key Responsibilities
- Solution Architecture & Design: Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and cost-optimized cloud architectures tailored to customer business requirements and technical constraints.
- Customer Engagement: Serve as the primary technical point of contact during ProServe engagements, building trusted relationships with customer stakeholders ranging from developers to C-suite executives.
- Cloud Migration & Modernization: Architect and execute cloud migration strategies (rehost, replatform, refactor) for complex enterprise workloads, including legacy and mainframe modernization initiatives.
- Best Practices & Well-Architected Reviews: Conduct AWS Well-Architected Framework reviews and provide actionable recommendations to improve customers' cloud environments across reliability, security, performance, cost optimization, operational excellence, and sustainability pillars.
- Technical Delivery: Lead the delivery of ProServe projects end-to-end, including defining technical scope, creating architecture artifacts, guiding implementation teams, and ensuring quality outcomes.
- Innovation & Emerging Technologies: Advise customers on adopting emerging AWS services and technologies, including generative AI (Amazon Bedrock, Amazon SageMaker AI), serverless architectures, containers, and data analytics platforms.
- Collaboration: Work closely with ProServe Account Executives, Engagement Managers, Practice Managers, Solutions Architects, and AWS partner teams to deliver integrated solutions that maximize customer
- Knowledge Sharing: Contribute to internal knowledge bases, create reusable assets (reference architectures, automation scripts, templates), and mentor junior team members.
- Pre-Sales Support: Support business development efforts by participating in customer workshops, proof-of-concept development, and technical proposal creation.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in IT architecture, systems design, or software engineering.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing solutions on AWS or comparable cloud platforms.
- Strong understanding of core AWS services including compute (EC2, Lambda, ECS/EKS), storage (S3, EBS, EFS), networking (VPC, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway), databases (RDS, DynamoDB, Aurora), and security (IAM, KMS, Security Hub) and infrastructure-as-code tools (AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, AWS CDK).
- Experience leading technical delivery in a consulting or professional services environment, conveying complex technical concepts to both technical and business audiences
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS Professional level certification, or degree in advanced technology
- Experience with large-scale cloud migration programs, including use of AWS Migration Hub, AWS Application Migration Service, and MAP (Migration Acceleration Program).
- Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Amazon ECS, Amazon EKS).
- Experience with serverless application development and event-driven architectures.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation frameworks.
- Experience with data and analytics services (Amazon Redshift, AWS Glue, Amazon Athena, Amazon QuickSight).
- Exposure to AI/ML services (Amazon Bedrock, Amazon SageMaker, Amazon Q) and generative AI solution design.
