This role focuses on protective intelligence, identifying and mitigating threats to Anthropic's people, facilities, and operations. It involves intelligence collection, analysis, and dissemination, with a focus on behavioral threat assessment and executive protection. The role will help shape the program and establish workflows in a growing team.

What you'd actually do

  1. Conduct all-source intelligence collection and analysis to identify, assess and prioritize physical security threats to Anthropic and its personnel
  2. Produce clear, well-sourced analytical products, from quick-turn updates to in-depth analytical reports for executive delivery
  3. Investigate and triage concerning communications, online threats, and persons of concern using established threat assessment methodologies
  4. Apply behavioral threat assessment principles to persons-of-concern cases, analyzing patterns of concerning behavior, indicators of escalation toward violence, and mitigating factors to guide case disposition and ongoing threat management
  5. Provide intelligence support for executive protection, travel security, and major events, including pre-travel and event briefs, assessments, and real-time threat monitoring

Skills

Required

  • 5+ years of professional experience in protective intelligence, corporate investigations, threat assessment, or a related discipline
  • Expertise in Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) tradecraft, including proficiency with specialized intelligence tools and social media analysis platforms
  • Understand how targeted violence develops behaviorally and can recognize and weigh warning behaviors, escalation dynamics, and protective factors when assessing whether a subject is on a pathway toward harm
  • Hands-on experience applying established threat assessment methodologies (e.g., TRAP-18, WAVR-21) to analyze and evaluate individuals of concern
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively tailor complex content for various stakeholders, from technical teams to senior leadership
  • Can manage multiple tasks simultaneously under tight deadlines with minimal oversight

  • Specialized knowledge of risks unique to the AI sector
  • Professional certifications such as BTAM, CPP, PCI, or relevant intelligence community credentials
  • Familiarity with privacy law and legal considerations governing intelligence collection in the private sector
