Prototype Laser & Sheet Metal Tech

Anduril Anduril · Defense · Costa Mesa, CA · Hardware Engineering : Mechanical Engineering : Dev Manufacturing

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company seeking a Prototype Laser & Sheet Metal Tech to operate and support sheet metal processing equipment, focusing on AMADA ENSIS Fiber Lasers and CNC press brakes. This hands-on manufacturing development role involves supporting prototype and R&D hardware builds, troubleshooting equipment, performing quality checks, and collaborating with engineering teams in a fast-paced R&D shop environment. The role requires significant experience in laser cutting, sheet metal processing, CNC press brake operations, and interpreting technical drawings.

What you'd actually do

  1. Process sheet metal parts using AMADA ENSIS Fiber Lasers, CNC press brakes, CAM software, and related fabrication equipment.
  2. Set up, program, operate, and troubleshoot laser cutting and press brake jobs, including cut conditions, tooling, bend sequencing, and process parameters.
  3. Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, CAD outputs, work instructions, material specifications, and part geometry before processing work.
  4. Perform quality checks on completed parts, including dimensional accuracy, edge quality, bend accuracy, fit, finish, and conformance to drawing requirements.
  5. Support routine maintenance, equipment readiness, installation, setup, and process development for laser, press brake, and related fabrication equipment.
