This role is for a Prototype Machinist & Fabrication Specialist who will be responsible for transforming complex designs into high-precision physical hardware for autonomous delivery robots. The role involves operating and programming CNC machines, managing 3D printing technologies, fabricating custom jigs and fixtures, and supporting the assembly and troubleshooting of robotic platforms. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in high-precision machining, 3D printing, and CAD/CAM software.

What you'd actually do

  1. Operate and program 5-axis CNC machines, CNC lathes, and manual mills/lathes to produce high-tolerance prototype components.
  2. Oversee the daily operation, post-processing, and maintenance of 3D printing technologies including FDM, SLS, and SLA platforms.
  3. Design and fabricate custom jigs, fixtures, and specialized tooling to support complex assemblies and unique testing requirements.
  4. Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to ensure all builds meet exact specifications.
  5. Support the physical assembly, wiring, and mechanical troubleshooting of robotic delivery vehicles and test fixtures.
