What you'd actually do

  1. Support a cross-functional product design team with hands-on assembly
  2. Develop process flows and quality work instructions for prototype builds
  3. Identify fixturing and tooling needs for prototype assembly
  4. Setup and manage prototype builds from start to finish
  5. Work embedded with engineering teams during initial unit builds to ensure design intent is maintained and to facilitate updates to the scale line

Skills

Required

  • BS or MS degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in consumer electronic products
  • Experience with hardware development cycle and sustaining hardware
  • Experience in manufacturing assembly and test development
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
  • Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
  • Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
  • Experience optimizing design of existing products or devices
  • Experience with optical electro-mechanical systems
  • Experience with building cross-functional relationships
  • Experience with driving for results, motivation, and urgency
