Discord is seeking a Public Policy Lead for U.S. States to build trust and find common ground with policymakers and regulators. The role involves advocating for Discord's positions on legislative and regulatory initiatives, engaging in public policy coalitions, monitoring policy developments, and developing policy materials. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams and a deep understanding of technology policy, including online safety and privacy.

What you'd actually do

  1. Introduce Discord to policymakers and other stakeholders including educating decision-makers on our mission, our products, and our investments in privacy and safety
  2. Advocate for Discord’s position on key legislative and regulatory initiatives that will impact our users and our business
  3. Engage in public policy coalitions with peer companies and civil society organizations.
  4. Monitor and analyze policy developments in the U.S. States.
  5. Develop public policy materials such as position papers, talking points, presentations, consultation responses, for engagement with our partners.
