Public Safety Strategist (west Coast, Midwest, or Pacific North West)

Skydio is seeking experienced public safety leaders for a Public Safety Strategist role to drive market expansion by leveraging deep expertise in public safety leadership to advocate for DFR solutions and support their mission with state, local, and educational agencies. This role involves championing drone and DFR technology, collaborating with internal teams for territory strategy and revenue growth, developing business cases, acting as a subject matter expert, leading public sector procurement, staying abreast of regulatory environments, building relationships, and organizing/participating in public presentations. The role also involves serving as a DRI for working groups, leading feedback loops with customers to capture operational insights and translate them into product requirements, and partnering with Product and Engineering to validate new capabilities against real-world scenarios. The ideal candidate has 20+ years of law enforcement experience with command-level responsibility and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy.

What you'd actually do

  1. Champion Skydio’s innovative drone and DFR technology, demonstrating public safety value to key decision-makers at the city, county, and state levels.
  2. Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Policy for territory strategy, customer identification, and revenue growth within assigned markets.
  3. Develop and present business cases to executive stakeholders, advocating for Skydio’s adoption in public safety.
  4. Act as a public safety subject matter expert, guiding the Skydio GTM and Engineering teams on operational realities.
  5. Lead or advise on public sector procurement, including navigating RFPs, RFQs, and state/local contracting processes.
