Quality Engineer – Accuracy Control

Saronic Saronic · Defense · Franklin, LA · Operations

The Quality Engineer – Accuracy Control role at Saronic focuses on ensuring dimensional accuracy and precision measurement quality in the construction of autonomous surface vessels. Responsibilities include developing and implementing dimensional control procedures, using metrology equipment like laser trackers and total stations for inspections and alignment verification, improving quality processes, and ensuring compliance with various standards. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related technical field and 3-5 years of experience in quality engineering or dimensional control, preferably in shipbuilding or complex manufacturing environments. Proficiency with precision measurement systems and interpreting engineering drawings is essential.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop, implement, and maintain dimensional control and precision measurement procedures for shipyard fabrication, assembly, integration, and testing activities.
  2. Utilize laser trackers, total stations, digital levels, and other metrology equipment to establish and maintain vessel coordinate systems, reference datums, and control networks.
  3. Identify opportunities to improve dimensional control workflows, fabrication accuracy, and shipyard quality processes.
  4. Conduct dimensional inspections and provide oversight of critical assembly and integration processes.
  5. Maintain accurate records of inspection data, measurement reports, alignment results, and dimensional nonconformances.
