Quality Engineer for Unity's Consoles and Platform Graphics team, focusing on testing graphics features, performance, and bug resolution across various devices and hardware platforms.

What you'd actually do

  1. Investigate and reproduce bugs related to Unity’s Graphics features on specialised hardware and devices, to identify the root causes of reported issues.
  2. Conduct testing of Unity Graphics features across a wide range of devices to ensure consistent performance and compatibility.
  3. Execute performance testing, collect data, and identify potential optimisations to enhance graphics performance on platforms.
  4. Communicate findings to cross-functional teams, providing detailed reports on bugs, performance issues, and testing outcomes.
  5. Stay up to date with the latest hardware and graphics technologies to help enhance Unity's compatibility and performance on new devices.

Skills

Required

  • Basic understanding of real-time graphics, rendering techniques, or game engines (Unity preferred).
  • Some familiarity with console platforms (Sony, Nintendo, Microsoft) and their hardware ecosystems.
  • Passion for problem-solving with a keen interest in debugging and troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong drive to ensure quality across a variety of devices and hardware configurations.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to clearly document findings and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Basic experience with testing methodologies and tools (performance testing is a plus).

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with debugging tools such as RenderDoc, Razor, Xcode Instruments, or Android Profiler.
  • Knowledge of programming languages or scripting (e.g., C#, Python).
  • QA Knowledge or previous experience.
  • Hands-on experience with graphics programming or shader development.
  • Understanding of Metal, Vulkan, and OpenGL
  • Working knowledge of XR devices and ecosystems.
