What you'd actually do

  1. Ensure the assembly documentation is accurate and complete
  2. Observe assembly, lay-up, and torque operations
  3. Conduct dimensional inspections on both parts and assemblies
  4. Examine raw materials, piece-parts, and final assemblies
  5. Interpret specifications, drawings, tolerances, and additional requirements

Skills

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1-3 years of experience in a Quality Inspector role within aerospace manufacturing or a related industry
  • Experience with various inspection techniques and equipment (DMM, calipers, micrometers, etc.)
  • Ability to perform inspections using assembly instructions and engineering drawings
  • Ability to use precision measurement tools and calibrated equipment effectively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with a strong understanding of quality-centric practices and processes

Nice to have

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field
  • Certification from a recognized quality institution like ASQ
  • Certification in AS9100 or similar quality management standards in aerospace
  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies
  • Proficiency in reading, understanding, and interpreting technical documents, blueprints, and engineering drawings
