Joby Aviation is seeking a Quality Inspector to perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections on parts and materials for VTOL electric aircraft. This role involves reviewing documentation, conducting FOD inspections, and ensuring compliance with quality standards and engineering specifications. The ideal candidate will have a high-school diploma, at least three years of experience including one year in quality inspection, and proficiency with inspection tools and GD&T.

What you'd actually do

  1. Perform Quality Incoming Inspection on supplied parts, materials, and other items as applies
  2. Perform in-process inspection during the production process
  3. Perform final inspection on dispositioned shipments
  4. Perform final inspection, and confirmation, of Supplier provided documents to assure they are complete and accurate
  5. Perform ad hoc part, process, and assembly inspections

Skills

Required

  • High-school diploma or GED
  • three (3) years of on-the-job experience
  • one (1) year Quality Inspection experience
  • Proficient use of inspection tools or machinery
  • Understand how to measure using surface plate layouts
  • Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Ability to read and interpret quality control specifications, blueprint drawings and engineering specifications
  • basic quality terms, definitions and concepts
  • types of measurement, measurement terminology and the different types of measurement scales
  • difference between accuracy and precision
  • select the appropriate measuring tools and techniques
  • identify/recognize inspection errors and nonconformances and initiate corrective action

  • ASQ Certified Quality Inspector Certificate
