What you'd actually do

  1. Performs incoming and in-process inspections of machined components, composite panels, solar array panels, propulsion tanks, and other precision assemblies to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and workmanship standards
  2. Utilizes precision measurement and inspection tools, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, pin gages, thread gages, surface plates, depth gages, and Romer Arm, to verify dimensional and geometric tolerances
  3. Documents inspection results, manages nonconforming material, and drives resolution with Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams, including MRB actions as required
  4. Reviews and maintains vendor documentation, including Certificates of Conformance, material certifications, test reports, and First Article Inspection (FAI) reports; scan, file, and organize records in electronic quality systems
  5. Ensures all measurement and testing equipment is properly calibrated, maintained, and operating within established tolerances

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Quality Assurance experience
  • Inspection experience
  • ASME Standards for Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) experience
  • Precision measuring tools and equipment experience
  • Precision measurement equipment experience
  • Reading and interpreting aerospace engineering drawings and blueprints
  • Interpreting mechanical drawings and work instructions
  • Basic Microsoft Office and office computing systems proficiency
  • Ability to lift 20lbs or more on a frequent basis
  • Ability to stand and move for extended periods
