Quality Inspector role at Caterpillar focused on process quality control, data collection, analysis, and problem-solving in a manufacturing environment. Requires familiarity with quality standards (ISO9001/TS16949) and basic quality tools (5Why, Fishbone, SPC).

What you'd actually do

  1. Assist process quality engineers in carrying out process quality control and daily quality management.
  2. Support analysis of quality problems on the production floor, data collection, and implementation of improvements.
  3. Gradually improve process quality control capabilities through the application of basic quality tools.
  4. Assist in monitoring production process quality to ensure compliance with standard requirements.
  5. Execute inspection standards, SOPs, and Control Plans as required, and assist in maintaining quality documentation.

Skills

Required

  • Familiarity with ISO9001 or TS16949 quality standards and systems.
  • Proficiency in quality control and basic quality analysis tools (e.g., 5Why, Fishbone diagram, basic SPC concepts).
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical drawings, including dimensions and tolerances.
  • Familiarity with the use of common measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers).
  • Understanding of basic manufacturing processes (assembly, machining, etc.).
  • Basic English reading and writing ability to understand technical documents.
  • Integrity, strong sense of responsibility, good execution, and communication skills.
  • Good learning ability.
  • Basic problem analysis skills.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with SAP ME / digital systems (e.g., Power App) and automated inspection.
  • Proficiency in SPC / MSA / RCCA tools.
  • Attention to detail and data sensitivity.
  • Some English written and spoken communication skills.
  • Internship or quality-related experience.
  • On-site production or inspection experience.
