R&D Engineer focused on designing and developing medical instruments and accessories, involving mechanical and electromechanical product development from conceptualization to mass production, with a focus on improving patient care and user experience. What you'd actually do

  1. Design and develop medical instrument and accessories to provide clinically relevant solutions to improve patient care, and improve the user experience.
  2. Design and develop instruments and accessories that will be utilized on benchtop and ex-vivo tissue laboratory testing.
  3. Research, plan, design, verify, validate and develop mechanical and/or electromechanical products, such as metals, plastics, instruments for medical application.
  4. Utilize CAD software to create solid models, assembly models and drawings, and collaborate with internal and external partners to produce prototype and production parts.
  5. Provide hands-on troubleshooting, process and manufacturing assistance in support of a rapid development cycle and work through all phases of product development from conceptualization to mass production.

Skills

Required

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field
  • 1 year of experience in the job offered or in a R&D Engineer-related occupation
