Radar Systems Senior Engineer - Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (pac-3)

Boeing Boeing · Aerospace · Huntsville, AL

Senior Radar Systems Engineer for the Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) program, focusing on algorithm development for radar signal processing, including Kalman filtering, probabilistic modeling, and measurement processing. The role involves designing algorithms for target discrimination and tracking, defining system performance requirements, and optimizing system-of-systems performance. Responsibilities include analyzing seeker simulation data, reviewing digital signal processing techniques, and supporting tactical implementation in Ada or C++.

What you'd actually do

  1. Provide subject matter expertise in support of algorithm development for radar signal processing techniques such as Kalman filtering, probabilistic and statistical modeling, and measurement processing from pulsed-Doppler waveforms.
  2. Design of algorithms that process signal returns into discriminated targets and track targets through mission timeline.
  3. Define system performance requirements and ensure interface definition supports various functional components of the seeker’s and missile’s architecture.
  4. Conduct analysis to optimize total system-of-systems performance and/or system architecture as applied to algorithmic functionality pertaining to the acquisition and tracking of targets.
  5. Conduct analysis on seeker simulation data to identify areas of improvement and guide recommendations for system robustness in the presence of challenging operational environments
