Rcs Special Technology Engineering Manager (level K)

Manages a team of engineers and technicians focused on Radar Cross Section (RCS) design, analysis, and testing for Low Observable (LO) platforms and material development. The role involves technical project oversight, stakeholder management, and people leadership within Boeing's Phantom Works Special Technology organization, working on proprietary programs from low to mid-TRL.

What you'd actually do

  1. Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the areas of: RF and/or RCS system development
  2. Computational electromagnetic modeling
  3. RCS design & testing (materials, components, systems, and platforms)
  4. Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals
  5. Acquires resources for projects and processes, (including staffing), provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry
  • 9+ years of work-related experience with a bachelor’s or 7+ years of work-related experience with Masters or 4+ years with a PhD
  • at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership.”
  • Experience with RF systems or coursework in RF theory

Nice to have

  • Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering or Physics
  • Active US Top Secret Clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Access
  • Prior experience leading a team of RCS engineers (as a manager or technical lead) including hiring or allocating personnel resources
  • Experience performing engineering and technical development activities in the areas of RCS technologies and RF advanced mission systems.
  • Prior project management experience
  • Experience designing and testing RCS materials and systems
  • Experience performing RCS modeling and simulation
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical issues
  • Hands-on experiences with integration, lab testing, and troubleshooting.

What the JD emphasized

  • ability to obtain a US Top Secret Security Clearance
