Boeing is seeking a Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Technician to join their Facilities team in Puget Sound, Washington. The role involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting HVAC-R systems, working from blueprints, and collaborating with various teams. The technician will ensure optimal performance and reliability of systems, adhering to safety and quality standards. Responsibilities include routine maintenance, diagnosing malfunctions, and performing repairs on refrigeration and air conditioning equipment. A Universal EPA certification and experience in commercial/industrial HVAC are required.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lay out, construct, install, maintain, and repair HVAC-R equipment, including associated controls and components.
  2. Work from blueprints, sketches, and verbal instructions to complete assigned tasks effectively.
  3. Utilize testing equipment to read and adjust controls for optimal system performance.
  4. Install and adjust valve controls, perform electrical wiring, and set up electronic controls for HVAC-R systems.
  5. Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain various types of refrigeration and air conditioning equipment.

Skills

Required

  • 3+ years of experience in Commercial/Industrial heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) field performing trouble shooting, maintaining & repairing equipment
  • 3+ years of cascading refrigeration experience
  • Universal EPA certification
  • Fall Protection Training
  • Ability to lift 35+ pounds

Nice to have

  • Experience with Energy Management Control System (EMCS)
  • Proficiency in soldering and brazing
  • Experience with laser and dial indicator alignment

What the JD emphasized

  • must possess a card from a certifying organization approved by the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), that shows you to be certified as a Universal technician as required by 40 CFR (Code or Federal Regulations) part 82, Subpart
  • Must be able to complete Fall Protection Training
