Regional Sales Engineer

CrowdStrike is seeking a Sales Engineer with significant security expertise to collaborate with sales teams and partners on pre-sales technical activities, technically qualify opportunities, conduct Proof of Value (POV) evaluations, create Security Assessment Reports, and drive end-user acceptance. The role involves training distributors and partners, acting as a liaison between customers and headquarters for technical issues, and contributing to revenue targets and market analysis. The ideal candidate has a background in sales engineering or relevant work experience, strong understanding of security spaces like AV, EDR, incident response, and network protocols, excellent communication and presentation skills, and experience with various operating systems and cloud platforms.

What you'd actually do

  1. Collaborate with our sales teams and partners with high-touch pre-sales technical activity.
  2. Technically qualify opportunities and POV (Proof of Value) evaluation with end-user accounts and partners.
  3. Create Security Assessment Reports for end-users post-POV evaluation.
  4. Help drive end-user acceptance and buy-in for POV conversion to revenue.
  5. Help train distributors and partners to allow them to deploy successful POVs and assist them with Security Assessment Reports.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field
  • Sales engineering background or 5+ years of relevant work experience
  • Ability to travel as required
  • Experienced in endpoint or network security space – AV, EDR, incident response, forensics, SIEM, firewall, HIPS/IDS, etc.
  • Strong understanding of Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems and Mobile such as IOS/Android.
  • Understanding of the OSI model, IPv4/6, Routing, Switching, DNS, VLANs and Subnetting, Taps, Load Balancers, SNORT, YARA
  • Can easily articulate complex security problems to a diverse set of audiences
  • Strong self-starter with the ability to work independently
  • Can work collaboratively with Sales, Marketing, Support, and Engineering; the Sales Engineer should be the technical bridge between CrowdStrike and prospects/customers
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to present to a variety of external audiences, including C-level executives
  • Extensive contacts in the information security field and strong references

  • Experience with malware, threat intelligence, and/or sandbox analysis
  • Experience with programming or scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, and Bash
