Regional State and Local Affairs Lead, Northeast States

This role focuses on engaging with state and local governments in the Northeast US to advance AI policy, legislation, and regulation that supports Anthropic's mission of safe and beneficial AI development. The lead will execute policy campaigns, build coalitions, and manage relationships with government stakeholders.

What you'd actually do

  1. Execute Anthropic’s state affairs strategy across Northeast states, implementing policy campaigns and engagement plans developed in coordination with the Head of State Affairs
  2. Build and maintain relationships with state legislators, legislative staff, governors’ offices, attorneys general, and state agency leaders across your assigned region
  3. Cultivate relationships with governors’ offices and executive branch leadership to advance Anthropic’s policy priorities in the region
  4. Develop and manage partnerships with external stakeholders including universities, industry partners, and advocacy organizations in Northeast states
  5. Track and report on state policy developments in your region, providing intelligence and analysis to inform company strategy
