Regional Sustainability Lead

Boeing is seeking a Regional Sustainability Lead to develop and execute sustainability policy advocacy and partnerships in the EU and NATO. The role focuses on fleet renewal, operational efficiency, renewable energy, advanced technologies, and market-based measures. Responsibilities include leading policy goal development, fostering stakeholder relationships, and executing advocacy campaigns. Requires extensive experience in environmental studies, public policy, or sustainability, with a preference for aviation sector experience.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead the development of policy goals for the EU and NATO. Covering key files related to Boeing’s sustainability five pillars. Examples include, but are not limited to: ReFuelEU, EU ETS, PESCO – Military Mobility, Connected Europe Facility, Non-CO2, Taxonomy.
  2. Foster and own relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, institutions, governments, industry partners, and NGOs, to advance Boeing's sustainability agenda in the region.
  3. Develop, coordinate, lead and execute sustainability advocacy campaigns.
  4. Coordinate and support cross-functional sustainability objectives, collaborating with Sales, Marketing, Communications, BCA, BDS, BGS, Boeing Global (BG), Enterprise Technology (ET&T), Boeing Research & Technology (BR&T), and Global Enterprise Sustainability (GES).

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher
  • Extensive experience in environmental studies, public policy, business development, or sustainability
  • Proven ability to deliver advocacy
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver a portfolio of projects with multiple partners
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficiency in English with strong writing and presentation skills

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in an environmental technical field, public policy, or related field; advanced degree preferred
  • Very experienced in sustainability, policy advocacy, partnership development, strategy or sales, preferably within the aviation sector
  • Experience advocating, shaping, and crafting policy or legislation that can support the commercial aviation industry’s commitment to becoming carbon net-zero by 2050
  • Strong understanding of environmental and sustainability principles and best practices
